  • Court-Appointed Guardian/Conservator – A person appointed by a court to manage the personal and/or financial affairs of someone who is unable to do so themselves due to incapacity or disability. Guardians often handle daily care decisions, while conservators oversee finances.
  • Court-Appointed Personal Representative (Executor) – A person assigned by the court to administer the estate of someone who has passed away, including paying debts, distributing assets, and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Court-Appointed Trustee – A trustee appointed by a court to manage a trust, often when the original trustee cannot serve or when court oversight is required.

Agent under General Power of Attorney – An individual authorized to act on behalf of another person for financial, legal, or other specified matters while the principal is still alive. The agent’s authority is immediate but ends upon the principal’s incapacity unless it is a durable power of attorney.
